Pentecost: To prepare for the feast of Pentecost and the Eucharistic Congress it is hoped to have 40 hours continuous adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration will start on Friday 25th May at 7p.m. and continue until Sunday 27th May at 11am. Volunteers are needed please to do one hour adoration or more if anyone wishes. Eucharistic Congress: This collection is due back as soon as possible please. This is the fourth and last collection for the Congress. The collection will be used to help defray the cost of running and hosting the Eucharistic Congress.
Tractor Pulling & Family Field Day: Takes place on Sunday 10th June in Bridie & John Gilligan’s Field, Abbeylara. The day will include new and exciting events as well as the usual ones. See posters and local press/media for details. Admission is €10 per person; €15 per family, u16s free. Stewards and helpers needed on the day please. Youth 2000 Clonmacnois Youth Festival: Takes place from Thursday 9th Aug. to Sunday 12th Aug. for 16 – 35 year olds. This weekend has prayer, music, song and much more. Please contact Michaelle on 087 1367805 for more details.
Tidy Towns: We had a very successful cake sale last weekend. A special thank you to all who baked cakes, tarts, buns etc. and to all who helped in any way to make it successful. The next meeting is on Monday night 14th. at 8pm.

News from Lus na Gréine FRC:National Volunteering Week: Takes place May 14th. – 20th. Our volunteers have planned a full week of activities in the centre for the community. Monday 14th May, Taster Sessions of Reflexology & Massage 10am -1 pm, Tuesday, 15th. Container Planting & Summer Bedding 10 am-1pm. Wednesday 16th. An Afternoon of Song, Music & Poetry 2.30 pm – 4 pm Friday 18th. Manicurist will attend the centre for Active Age 11am – 1pm and from 3 – 4pm Afternoon Bingo. The centre needs volunteers and would love to speak with you if you have an interest in volunteering.
Sign Language Classes Commence: Tuesday, 15th. at 8 pm. Booking necessary. Classes supported by Longford VEC to whom we are very grateful.
Pottery Classes: A course of six pottery classes will take place in the centre with Marina Harton.with our new Potter’s Wheel.Get your name down for these. Minimal fee.
