Trocaire: Lent begins on Wed. 22nd Feb. Volunteers are required please, to distribute the Trocaire Boxes to each home in our parish. Please contact Fr. Ml 86270
Old Coins: Please hand in your old coins to the Bank. The bank will exchange old coins into present currency and give it to Trocaire.
Ash Wednesday: Takes place on Wed. 22nd Feb. Ashes will be blessed and distributed on Wed. evening in Abbeylara Church at the 7.30pm Mass. School children will receive their ashes on that day in both of our National Schools.
Stations of the Cross: On each Sunday evening during Lent beginning next Sun. 26th Feb. in Abbeylara at 7.30pm. This beautiful prayer will be our ongoing spiritual preparation for the Eucharistic Congress.

Confirmation: – Will be celebrated on Tuesday 13th March in Abbeylara at 2pm for the Confirmation classes in both of our National Schools. Please pray for these your people as they prepare for this important Sacrament.
Confirmation Retreat: Takes place on Tuesday 28th Feb. in Abbeylara NS Hall for the Confirmation Classes of both Schools.
Confirmation Service of Light: On Monday 5th March in Abbeylara Church at 8pm for the Confirmation pupils of both schools and their parents.
Senior Scor: Takes place on Sat. 25th Feb. in the 98 Memorial Hall, Ballinamuck. We wish all those taking part the very vest of good luck. A word of kind thanks to Trisha and those who have organised and prepared them for Scor. Your support on the night would be appreciated.
St. Bernard’s NS Abbeylara Open Afternoon on Sat. Feb. 25th at 2pm. All are welcome to see our facilities.
Parish Pastoral Council: Important meeting on Thursday 23rd Feb. in the Sports Centre at 8.30pm. All members are requested to attend.
Mill Hill Missionaries: Fr. Donal Harney M.H.M. wishes to thank you for the welcome he received last weekend to the parish. The total collection including subscriptions to St. Joseph’s Advocate amounted to €705. He is very thankful for your generous response in these recessional times. A number of St. Joseph’s Advocate Magazines are available free in our churches. Please take one.
Abbeylara Community Alert: The Text Alert system is now in operation. Anyone still wishing to join Text Alert is welcome to do so, as application forms available in the Church. Next meeting Mon 27th Feb.

Aontas Adult Learners Festival: Co. Longford VEC are hosting an open morning in conjunction with the National Adult Learning Festival in the Adult Education Campus, Battery Road, Longford on Wed. 22nd Feb. from 9.30am to 1pm where adults can get information and advice, sample courses and meet the tutors.
