Advent Safeguarding Message 2017: As we approach Christmas we remember that Jesus Christ was born into a family; he was a son. He was brought up by Mary and Joseph and by his wider family and local community. Scripture records his connections with family and friends. Mary and Joseph looked after their son; they protected and kept him safe at a time when there were many threats. In our time, as a Church community, we look after and protect our young people and adults at risk. I thank our Parish Safeguarding Representatives and our Priests for their valuable work in ensuring the safety of children and adults at risk in our Church related activities.
I encourage anyone with concerns regarding the safety of children or anyone who suffered in the past to contact our Designated Liaison Person, Sean Leydon (087-7431649) or our Deputy Designated Liaison Person, Róisín O’Doherty (087-3327587).
THANK YOU to everyone who supported our recent Christmas Concert in Abbeylara. To all our generous sponsors, Videographer Mel Brady, Musicians Barney Brady, Philip Clarke & PJ Kennedy. Thanks to all involved who worked so hard behind the scenes to make everthing run smoothly on the night.
To all the boys & girls who performed on the night – ‘so talented’, Congrats to you all.
Special thankyou to Fr. Michael Campbell for the use of Parish Centre. Music lessons will resume after Christmas. Merry Christmas to you all.
