Mass for the Deceased from Nov. ’16 to Nov. ’17: This annual Mass is on Friday, 10th Nov. in Abbeylara at 7.30 p.m. for Deceased Parishioners, for Deceased former Parishioners, for all the Deceased people living outside our Parish who have family members or relations in our Parish and for all the Deceased with any connection in our Parish who have died over the past year.
Social Dancing: Philip English Band will provide the music for our Social Dancing night out on Friday 27th October in the Parish Centre, Abbeylara. Doors open at 9.30. Dancing from 10pm until midnight. Going to be a great night of fun and dancing.

St. Michael’s N.S. Castletown: The 70th Anniversary of St. Michael’s N.S. is being celebrated in conjunction with the 170th Anniversary of St. Michael’s Church, Castletown. All past pupils are invited to attend Mass on Nov. 12th at 12 noon followed by light refreshments in the Church.
Flynn Family Benefit Fund: A meeting will be held on Saturday, 28th October in the Parish Centre, Abbeylara at 8.15 pm. All committee members and anyone else interested is invited to attend.
Fundraiser: A special fundraising night will take place on Saturday, 4th November in Fay’s Bar, Granard in aid of Stephen Garland’s H.S.S.T. fund. This treatment is only available to Stephen in Russia and fundraising is ongoing. Music will be by Granard native Adrian Mulvey and Shindig. No cover charge. Raffle for many valuable spot prizes on the night. Your support would be appreciated.

Laura’s Russian Lifeline: Thank you to all who were involved in the organisation and running of the 5K Fun Run/Walk in aid of Laura’s Russian Lifeline which took place last Sunday, 15th Oct. in Abbeylara. Sincere thanks are extended to Arthur’s colleagues and members of An Garda Siochana who collaborated with members of Abbeylara GAA Club to arrange the event. Thanks to all the sponsors who helped to make the day a great success. Thanks to Lus na Greine for sponsoring children’s entertainment on the day. Thanks to all those who prepared and served food after the run. Thanks to the organisers of the Cake Sale which was held earlier that morning in the Community Centre. Thanks to the DJ for providing a soundtrack to the day. An air of importance was added to the event by Mr. Trump and his cavalcade who drove to the start line to officially start the race. Finally, thanks to all participants and those who donated. There was a great turn out and there was a lovely atmosphere in Abbeylara. The support shown to Arthur, Laura and their daughter Freya was much appreciated. The funds raised will go directly to Laura’s medical fund to ensure she can receive the best treatment available to her.
